Animal Control Center
The Animal Control Center Director oversees the operation of the Mercer County Animal Control Center. The director maintains all administrative animal records and reports, enforces the Mercer County Ordinance for the Control of Domestic Animals and assists in the adoption of animals.

Fee's are shown below and include applicable Kentucky Sales Tax. All fees are subject to change at any time with approval of the Mercer County Fiscal Court.
Adoption Fees
Includes: Spaying. Neutering, Worming, Vaccinations
Dogs
$106.00 for Male Dogs for residents of Mercer County
$128.00 or Female Dogs for residents of Mercer County
Cats
$64.00 for Male and/or Females for residents of Mercer County
Pick Up Fees
$37.10 per domestic animals surrendered to animal control
$26.50 per domestic animals picked up by animal control and returned to owner
Boarding
$7.95 Per day after pickup while at shelter
Quarantine
$79.50 payable before the start of the quarantine period
