Conservation

The Mercer County Conservation District works to make sure Mercer County’s soil, water, and air stay as clean as possible for the benefit of all residents, both current and future.  They educate today’s youth on how to care for and protect their environment, sponsor writing and art contests for school-age students and operate a conservation camp.

The District also helps landowners resolve soil erosion problems and has several helpful programs such as the hay storage program. They also provide sprayers for killing weeds that can take over crops.

For information on all these activities and more go to the Conservation District's website.
