Mercer County, formed in 1786, is rich in history. Harrodsburg is the seat of Mercer County and is located at the junction of US 127 & US 68. It was founded by James Harrod in 1774 as Harrods Town (or Harrodstown). There are more than 50 historical sites located and enjoyed by visitors and locals in Harrodsburg and Mercer County. Mercer County is very beautiful and an attractive place to live and work.
