2009 Board of Health Members
The Board of Health has twelve members appointed by the secretary of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. Those twelve members consist of three physicians, a dentist, a nurse, an engineer, an optometrist, a pharmacist, and a veterinarian. The county judge executive, an appointee of the judge executive and a community member round out the twelve members.
The Board's function is to assure that the services provided meet the community needs, to protect and promote public health and to provide oversight and approval of the departments procedures, policies and budgets.
